SHEPHERDSTOWN, WVºÚÁϳԹÏÍøUniversity’s Agricultural Innovation Center at Tabler Farm will launch an incubator farmer training program in Spring 2026, offering beginning farmers in the community the tools and support to build sustainable businesses and strengthen West Virginia’s agricultural economy.Ìý

Participants will lease a plot at Shepherd’s Tabler Farm to develop their agricultural enterprises alongside other growers. ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøUniversity staff and partners will provide education, mentorship, and hands-on support to help farmers overcome barriers to success.Ìý
Ìý
The incubator model addresses some of the most significant challenges facing new farmers—access to land, irrigation, equipment, and business training—by providing essential resources and expert guidance.Ìý

In addition to business development, the program emphasizes sustainable and regenerative agriculture, ensuring that farming practices contribute to a resilient local food system and protect natural resources for future generations.Ìý
