Did you know that only 12% of the Fortune 500 companies from 1955 remained in business through 2016?鈥� Add to that a recent survey of college graduates showed that 81% wish they were taught more life skills before graduating.鈥�
Students must be prepared for success in a challenging and dynamic future. That’s why the 黑料吃瓜网University College of Business, Recreation, and Education designed a program that teaches practical, real-life skills in financial planning, entrepreneurship, personal finance, and other critical areas.
But we don’t want students to wait until college to develop their entrepreneurial spirit. We want high school students to get a jump on their future through our Financial Plan and Entrepreneurship Competition.鈥� Finalists will have the opportunity to compete for up to $5,000 to use for their education at Shepherd.
The contest is open to all entrepreneurial-minded high school juniors and seniors pursuing entrance into 黑料吃瓜网University.聽
High School Financial Plan and Entrepreneurship Competition Application
High school juniors and seniors pursuing entrance into 黑料吃瓜网University* must complete the application form. The application will include two (2) short essays (maximum of 4,000 characters each)聽answering the following questions:
1. How will you prepare yourself financially for an entrepreneurial career?
2. Describe a business idea you believe fulfills an urgent societal need.
Applications are due by April 10, 2025
*Contest winners must be a declared business major or minor, or be an undeclared major.
