Hannah Brumbaugh ’18, ’20 is the November 2025 Alumni Highlight!
Hannah earned both her bachelor’s in 2018 and master’s in College Student Development and Administration in 2020 from Shepherd. As a student, she was one of the most active leaders on campus—serving as a Resident Assistant, Orientation Leader, Student Government Representative, Senior Class President, and a member of the Multicultural Leadership Team. While completing her master’s degree, she worked as a Graduate Assistant for Student Community Service and Service Learning, leading programs such as Alternative Spring Break, Relay for Life, and Emerging Leaders in Service. Upon graduation, she was honored as the 2020 Distinguished Graduate Student.
Hannah’s professional journey began at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøas the Alumni and Annual Giving Coordinator in the Office of Alumni Affairs, where she helped plan milestone events like the University’s 150th Anniversary. She has since built her career at American Public University System, where she currently serves as Resource & Student Engagement Coordinator II. In this role, she oversees strategic initiatives to enhance student success, leads career services programs, and mentors colleagues in leadership and professional development. In 2024, she was recognized with the Innovative Thinker Award, Rising Star Award, and Career Services Excellence Award. She also teaches as a faculty member in the Department of Arts & Humanities, guiding new students at the start of their academic journeys.
Her connection to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøhas never wavered. Since 2022, Hannah has served on the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøUniversity Alumni Association Board of Directors, holding the roles of Vice President, President, and now Immediate Past President. She has chaired the Nominating Committee and the Marketing & Membership Committee, and contributed to the Alumni Association’s Five-Year Strategic Plan.
Outside of her professional life, Hannah is dedicated to community service, volunteering regularly with the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company alongside her mother. She credits her parents, Cheryl and Tom, her friends, her colleagues, and her ever-faithful dog Mia for supporting her along the way.
Hannah has been described as an exemplary alumna whose enduring contributions to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøUniversity, her professional achievements, and her charitable heart make her a most deserving recipient of the Finest Under 40 Award.
The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøUniversity Alumni Association celebrates Hannah and her successes. ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøStudents Succeed!
