HOMECOMING WEEKEND ACTIVITIES: October 23-25
NEW for 2025! ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøUniversity Alumni Association Homecoming Weekend Restaurant Passport
- HOMECOMING WEEKEND RESTAURANT PASSPORT: In lieu of a traditional Homecoming after-party, the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøUniversity Alumni Association is introducing the All alumni, faculty, and staff can enjoy exclusive specials and discounts at select participating Shepherdstown restaurants. Pick up your passport in the Alumni Affairs Office (McMurran Hall) between Monday, Oct. 20 – Thursday, Oct. 23, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
- Participating restaurants include: Panagiota’s Taste of Greece, Tommeez Pizza & Subs, Bavarian Brothers Brewing, Little Brick Coffee & Potomac Ridge Brewing, Rumsey Tavern, and Blue Moon Café
- SHEPHERDSTOWN GHOST TOURS: owner Meredith Moore ’88, will be offering special tours during Homecoming Weekend, October 23-25, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Alumni Association! Candlelit walking tour of historic and haunted Shepherdstown, with some ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøCollege stories as well! Tickets can be purchased at .

- Spooky Stories for Children, hosted by the Writing Project at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøUniversity. Saturday, October 25 at 11 a.m. Location – the Little House on Princess St.
- , hosted by Panagiota’s Taste of Greece. Saturday, October 25 at 2-4 p.m. Location – 105 N. Princess St.
- : 21+ party starts at 9:30 p.m. Location – Panagiota’s Taste of Greece Restaurant (see their food truck at the game!) $5 cover fee. Costume Party…$50 cash prize for best dressed! 15% of all sales will be donated to the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøAlumni Association.

The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøUniversity Alumni Association is proud to announce our 2025 award honorees. We are thrilled to recognize Eric ’95 and Joy ’91 Lewis as our Outstanding Alumni of the Year for their continued commitment to ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøand their community. We also celebrate the newest members of our Finest Under 40: Daniel Sweeney ’17, Jake Mellow ’17 & ’19, Hannah Brumbaugh ’18 & ’20, and Alyssa Roush ’19 & ’21—young alumni making a meaningful impact in their fields. New this year, we are honored to introduce the Pillar of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøAward, recognizing lifetime dedication and service to the university. The inaugural recipient is Ray Alvarez ’62.

Tee off Homecoming Weekend at the SUAA 34th Annual Alumni Golf Tournament! Join fellow alumni and friends on Friday, October 24 at The Club at Cress Creek for a day of fun, food, and friendly competition. Registration includes light breakfast, lunch, dinner, a power pack for each player, and a special gift. Standard (Blue Flight) and 65+ (Gold Flight) divisions. Putting Contest and 50/50 Raffle that day – Cash Only / Cash Prizes!

Start your Homecoming Saturday right at the Alumni Breakfast on the Lawn from 9–11 a.m.! Enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast, reconnect with fellow alumni, and mingle with the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøcommunity. Stop by the SUAA table for giveaways, and if you’re a Gold Level member, pick up your game tickets while you’re there. Bonus: it’s the perfect spot to watch the Homecoming parade roll by! 50 Years of Nursing at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøCelebration

11 a.m. – Nursing Alumni reception at Erma Ora Byrd Hall
Help celebrate 50 years of nursing at Shepherd! The School of Nursing invites all alumni and their families to meet at the intersection of Church and German Streets at 9:30 a.m. to line up for marching in the Homecoming Parade. Directly following the end of the parade, please join us in Erma Ora Byrd Hall for a reception gathering.

Alumni Association Gold Level members have one (1) game ticket per member included. Those can be picked up in the SUAA office on the second floor of McMurran Hall starting Monday, October 19 through Thursday, October 23, 9am – 3 p.m.
McMurran Scholars Association Annual Homecoming Tailgate
Saturday, October 25
8 a.m. – Noon
Join fellow McMurran Scholars for our annual Homecoming Tailgate! All scholars joining the tailgate are encouraged to bring a covered dish and beverage of their choice. Some refreshments will be provided. We are in need of volunteers to help set up and man the tailgate throughout the morning! TAILGATE LOCATION: B Lot, behind the library/RSB Center for Congressional History prior to the football game.
Also stop by the Alumni Association Breakfast on McMurran Lawn at 9am and visit the MSA Table!
We will be holding our gift card raffle fundraiser! This is the biggest revenue generator for the MSA committee each year and goes to benefit student mentoring, the annual McMurran Scholars Convocation, and this year for the 60th Anniversary Celebration in the spring (Save The Date for Saturday, April 25). Donations of gift cards to be raffled are now being accepted.
