Psychology Major

Located in the Department of Social and Applied Behavioral Sciences, this program was designed under the guidelines set by the American Psychological Association for the undergraduate psychology major, providing an education that will prepare you for whichever career path you choose.

Program Requirements
In addition to the Core Curriculum and the B.A. Foreign Language Requirement, 41 credit hours must be completed, including 25 hours of required psychology courses and 16 hours of electives. View the full course catalog .听

The Department of Psychology offers听study abroad opportunities to its听students, including trips to London and听Paris.听
Psychology majors are eligible for a听variety of awards and scholarships听and are nominated by the Department of听Psychology faculty.听
Our听award-winning, highly engaged faculty听ensure our students are progressing by getting to know each of them. We do this by keeping classes small (most classes for majors have around 15-20 students), assigning each major to one of the full-time faculty as an academic advisor, and offering a number of opportunities to work one-on-one with faculty outside the classroom. This close faculty-student interaction also promotes student engagement and success.
Get Involved
Psi Chi
Psi Chi is the international honor society in psychology. Members of Psi Chi are eligible for research and travel awards and grants from the Psi Chi national organization. Additionally, members can submit their research for publication in the Psi Chi Journal of Psychological Research or present their research at the Southeastern Psychological Association annual meeting.
Psychology Club
Open to any 黑料吃瓜网student interested in the field of psychology, the Psychology Club promotes interests in psychology through events, activities, and social interactions between students, faculty, and the community, allowing members to explore psychology outside of the classroom setting.
