Scholarships available to psychology majors
The following scholarships are available to students majoring in Psychology. There is no application needed; recipients are chosen by the Psychology faculty. For more information, please contact Dr. Christopher Lovelace at clovelac@shepherd.edu.
The C. Brown and Hazel M. Hendricks Scholarship
Description: The C. Brown and Hazel M. Hendricks Scholarship is designated for students majoring in home economics and family life, or related fields such as psychology, arts and music. This endowment was established by Hazel Hendricks ’34 to honor her and her husband’s high regards for a ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøeducation, especially in the field of home economics.
Requirements: Psychology major, 2.50 GPA, and full-time status.
The Tri-State Civitan Scholarship
Description: The Tri-State Civitan Scholarship is designated for students from West Virginia, Maryland, or Pennsylvania who are majoring in nursing, social work, or psychology. This endowment was created by William H. McLean with the continued support from the Tri-State Civitan Club.
Requirements: Psychology major, 2.50 GPA, and financial need.
The Kenneth Riley Memorial Scholarship
Description: The Kenneth Riley Memorial Scholarship is designated for students majoring in psychology. This endowment was established by Ursula Riley in memory of her husband, Kenneth, a professor in education at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøCollege beginning in 1956.
Requirements: Psychology major, 2.50 GPA, and full-time status.
