Isaac Vila ’21 | Broadcast technician, SiriusXM
Music major
During his time in the music program, Isaac was exposed to a variety of courses where he was challenged to learn different aspects of the music industry. This benefited him in his professional journey as he was able to experience working with the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍørecording project, where he learned all about technology in music. He was also an active member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, where he was surrounded by a wonderful group of people equally as passionate about music.
A big part of his journey at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøwas the multiple internship opportunities he participated in. He interned with NexGen Music, a local music label in Shepherdstown where he learned about studio operations and the different parts of a music business. Another internship was with Welsh Sound. There, he learned about all the facets of live sound and how to operate the technology that pertains to getting a show up and running. This internship later brought him a position after graduation as a freelance contractor.
